About this event
Painting, Drawing, Performance, Reading, Exhibition
The proposals of the artists Emmanuel Régent and Tami Notsani explore the multiplicity of links that contemporary art can establish with memory and the archive, but also with the symbolism of objects, historical or parabolic.
The Last Sun
Emmanuel Régent's project, specially thought out and designed for the Shoah Memorial, offers unpublished works, combining the artist's conceptual, poetic and parabolic practice and aesthetics, and elements specific to the Memory of the Shoah but also to other genocides studied by the Shoah Memorial.
The exhibition questions the symbolic depth of the objects, but also the link between the ephemeral and the eternal, the bruises of History and hope, in a way that is always more evocative than frontal, leaving opens up the multiplicity of interpretations. At the heart of a constellation of works, ten watercolors specially created "on the motif" by the artist, in Rivesaltes, Drancy or Auschwitz, open onto the eternity of a sunset.
