About this event
The Center Pompidou exceptionally presents Skylight (2022), a solid light installation created by Anthony McCall in collaboration with the composer and musician David Grubbs. Continuing research into the volumetric properties of the luminous medium which characterizes all of McCall's work, Skylight integrates a sound dimension.
Light and sound share common physical properties: they propagate in space and time, define its contours, reveal its architecture. The soundscape developed by David Grubbs in close collaboration with the artist - whose dramaturgy is inspired by the shape of a storm - extends and amplifies these spatial qualities, offering a simultaneously visual, acoustic and corporeal experience.
