With the support of: DGCA - SACEM; Their presence places Les Processions in a living connection between the Orient and the Mediterranean. target="_blank">LinkedInYoutubeInstagramTiktokJewel of classical Arabic poetry The Book of Processions by Gibran Khalil Gibran, first published in Arabic in 1919 in New York, explores the duality of being, the tug between roots and the impulse towards a new future.
The poems are set to music by Walid Ben Selim in an inspiration from the traditional liturgical ensembles which populated the Mediterranean, while there Occitanie region; Through the richness of the timbres, the power of the collective and the anchoring of a musical tradition deeply linked to the languages, rites and memories of the Levant, they galvanize this creation carried by the Institute of the Arab World and give it the dimension of a great poetic gathering.
Conceived like a Mediterranean oratorio, this work brings together voices, gestures, languages and cultures around the same ambition: to celebrate the power of collective singing, the beauty of poetry href="https://soundcloud.com/imarabe" target="_bintegrating the modernity and relevance of Gibran's poetry and current music.
